In the context of night lockdown in the district, a reformed order has been issued on Saturday night, according to which the lockdown will be applicable from 9 pm to 6 am on December 28. Earlier it was implemented from the night of 24 December but this decision has been changed. The Collector has said in his rectified order that before imposing any kind of restriction, there is a directive to give clear information, due to which the ban will be implemented from December 28.
After this improved order, many hotels and restaurants have got relief. In the city, everything was started shutting down from 9 o’clock in the night. Some of those who came to know about the improved order reopened their restaurants etc. There were preparations for the New Year celebration too, they have also got relief. But it is mandatory to follow all the rules of the COVID protocol. Apart from this, the ban on gathering of more than 5 people will be applicable from 9 pm to 6 am.
Instructions to keep COVID Ward ready
The danger of Omicron has increased in view of the sudden increasing number of corona infected in the district. The District Magistrate directed to keep all the COVID Hospitals wards ready by taking an immediate meeting of all the high officials and directed to keep the COVID ward ready at full capacity by offering to Medical, AIIMS, Mayo Hospitals himself.
In the morning meeting, ZIP President Rashmi Barve, Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, ZIP CEO Yogesh Kumbhejkar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Basavaraj Teli, Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, Resident Deputy District Officer Vijaya Bankar, District Surgeon Dr. Devendra Paturkar, DHO Dr. All the department heads including Deepak Selokar were present.
In the meeting, everyone was unanimous regarding the implementation of the lockdown in the district from 9 pm to 6 am. In fact, 12 infected were found in the district on Friday and on the second day on Saturday, this number increased to 24. Even on that 21 new infected have been found in the city. Omicron test of all is also being done.

The government is apprehensive of a third wave in the state. The number of corona patients has increased rapidly in the last week. Seeing him, the danger of third wave is looming. Omicron patients have been found in the city. Therefore, it has become necessary to control the crowd in festivals, celebrations and markets.
In the meeting, the District Magistrate has directed all the concerned machinery to plan every possible measure for the prevention of corona. He has also directed to reserve beds for children in COVID hospitals. On the night of 24 December, the government had announced a night curfew after 9 pm. The District Magistrate and Municipal Commissioner have also implemented the said order in the entire district including the city.
