Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday announced the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station through Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The Railway Minister told the Parliament that the New Delhi Railway Station will soon be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for the passengers. For this, the central government has planned its redevelopment through PPP mode.
According to news agency PTI, Ashwini Vaishnav said this in response to a question asked by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Gupta about the government’s proposal regarding the improvement of New Delhi railway station. Informed.

The Union Minister said that the proposal for redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station will be taken up on Public Private Partnership mode. It aims to provide state-of-the-art passenger amenities, road infrastructure and stations along with an excellent building to meet the traffic demand of the future.

Environment clearance from Delhi government
When asked whether environment clearance has been received from the Delhi government for the redevelopment of New Delhi railway station? On this, the Railway Minister said that the railway station project has been exempted from obtaining prior environmental clearance subject to certain conditions. However, permission has been given to cut the trees, he said.
