Aurangabad: Under the joint aegis of Maharashtra’s Chief Electoral Officer’s Office, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Marathwada University and District Election Office, National Voters’ Day in the city on Tuesday. The event has been organized in the auditorium of Bamu University at 10 am. This information was given by Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Deshpande in a press conference.
He told that the Election Commission of India was established on 25 January 1950. The foundation day of the commission is celebrated as National Voters’ Day in the country since 2011. Dedicated to the voters of the country, on this day, the participation of voters in the election process increased, various initiatives are organized for this. Actress Chinmayi Sumit, Actor Makrand Anaspure, Vice Chancellor of Bamu University Dr. Pramod Yewale, Divisional Commissioner Sunil Kendrakar, State Science Professor, University of Mumbai, Dr. Deepak Pawar, Co-Chief Guests this year for this National Voters’ Day program. Election Officer Anil Valvi, Collector Sunil Chavan will be present.

Release of the book on democratic understanding
In this program, with the initiative of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, a book titled Lokshahi Samjut Ghetana, edited by Dr. Deepak Pawar, Professor of State Science, University of Mumbai, will be published. This book contains articles from more than 30 practitioners working in various fields. The website of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, Telegram bot will also be inaugurated in the program. Voter ID cards will also be given to the new voters. The names of District Magistrate, Sub-District Magistrate, Voter Registration Officer, Assistant Voter Registration Officer, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar will be announced for doing better work regarding voter awareness. In the end, Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Deshpande told that a voter awareness room will be constructed in the university campus in the program of National Voters’ Day. Through games like Sap-Sidi, Ludo, students will be explained the process to be completed regarding voting, elections.
