Nashik : After the approval of the State Government and the funds made available through equity for one year prior fund, the Finance Commission of the Central Government has Recently, 19.5 percent of the 20 percent fund has been approved for Nashik-Pune Railway. With the approval of the Finance Commission, the work of sanctioning the Nashik-Pune Railway has reached its final stage. MP Hemant Godse has given this information.
With the approval of the fund by the Finance Commission of the Central Government, the problem of Nashik-Pune Railway is indicating that the problem will be resolved soon. Since last 5 years, MP Godse has been trying to make a golden triangle of development by connecting two cities Nashik and Pune with railways like Mumbai-Pune. MP Godse had approved a fund of Rs 2 crore for railway survey three years ago. As a result, till now the survey work of this railway line has been completed. With Godse’s continuous efforts, the Railway Board as well as the State and Central Government have given in-principle approval to the proposal of Nashik-Pune railway line. The state government has already approved its share of Rs.32 crore for this railway and 60 per cent of the funds have been made available from equity. But, the Centre’s 20 per cent stake is pending for the last few months.

Nashik-Pune Railway is an ambitious project, which will connect three districts namely Nashik-Ahmednagar and Pune. Godse’s persistent effort over the past few months to get the Center to approve 20 per cent of his funds has now been successful. With the decision of the Finance Commission to approve this fund, the proposal of Nashik-Pune Railway has reached the final stage. After this, the proposal will go to NITI Aayog and the cabinet for final approval, which is expected to be approved in the next two months.
The actual work of the project will start in 3 to 4 months
Godse said the actual work on the project would start in just three to four months after the approval of the NITI Aayog and the cabinet. Discussions are going on among the affected farmers regarding the exact amount of compensation for the land going to the Nashik-Pune rail line. Like the redreakner, there is resentment among the affected farmers due to the low remuneration. Keeping this in view, Maharashtra Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation has shown its positive attitude towards the district administration regarding payment of average rates for village level procurement fertilizers in the last 3 years. This has indicated that the affected farmers are getting the requisite compensation for their land. A letter in this regard has been handed over by the Maharashtra Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation to the district administration today.
