NASA will fly an ‘Ingenuity’ drone near Jezero Crater on Mars. Through this, a clue to the ancient life that existed on the planet will be found.

The US space agency NASA has said that it will fly a drone on the planet Mars in early April. This drone was sent to Mars through Perseverance rover. About a month ago, the Perseverance Rover successfully made a landing near the Jezero Crater. NASA has said that the name of this small aircraft is ‘Ingenuity’ and the reason is 1.8 kg.
NASA has said that if it succeeds in flying this drone, it will be like the first flight by the ‘Wright Brothers’. The American Space Agency’s reference is to Orville and Wilbur Wright, who flew the plane for the first time in 1903. To reveal this moment, NASA revealed that a stamp size postage of the fabric of the aircraft of the ‘Wright Brothers’ has been affixed above the ‘Ingenuity’. It is currently attached to a drone rover. In the coming days it will be separated from the rover.
Drone flight will be recorded
Engineers have identified a 10-meter site near the Jjero crater, which is being called an ‘airfield’. Here, this drone will be flown at least five times. During this time, surveillance will record every activity on the camera. NASA engineer Farah Alibe said that he would do his best to record every single activity during the flight of ‘Ingenuity’. We will take pictures of this entire flight and make videos.
Photos will be found when the timing of the rover and drone is in sync
Alib said that it will be challenging. Rovers and drones operate separately. Different watches are also installed in both, so the timing of both devices needs to be synchronized, only then pictures and videos can be taken. Scientists have made ‘Ingenuity’ extremely light. It has been made so that it can be successful in lifting itself in the difficult environment of Mars.
What is special about drones?
Four specially carbon-fiber blades have been installed in this drone. They are arranged on one meter long rotors, which will rotate in the opposite direction. These blades will rotate at 2400 rpm every minute. The speed of the blades is much faster than that of a passenger helicopter flying on Earth. NASA engineers said that the first flight will be kept very simple and an attempt will be made to lift the drone up to three meters above the ground. If everything goes in the right direction, then the incoming flights will be more complicated.
