New Delhi: In order to reduce the burden on the judicial system of the country, more than 29 lakh cases were disposed of in Lok Adalats organized by NALSA in 35 states and union territories across the country on Saturday and orders were given for compensation of about Rs 4,431 crore. . This was the fourth time Lok Adalat was held by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) this year.
“National Lok Adalats in several states were inaugurated by the Chief Justice of the High Court of that state and the acting Chairman of the Legal Services Authority (SLSA) of the respective state,” a release issued here said. All the SLSA working presidents supervised the entire process in their respective states. Not only this, judges of High Courts in some states visited their administrative jurisdiction district and encouraged all the stakeholders.”
A total of 7,245,063 such cases were brought before Lok Adalats through digital or hybrid medium which were either pending in the courts or were in the pre-litigation stage, the release said. According to the data of the National Lok Adalat till 4 pm from all over the country, out of 72.45 lakh cases that came before it, 18.23 lakh cases were of pre-trial stage while 10.76 lakh cases were pending in courts.
“About 29 lakh cases had been disposed of till the last intimation, which indicates the great achievement and success of the Legal Services Authority,” the release said.
