Wardha. Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu said that the country’s National Education Policy-2020 follows Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Nai Talim’. In the National Education Policy also, it has been proposed to keep the mother tongue as the medium of instruction in primary or secondary classes. Emphasis has been laid on skill training to enhance entrepreneurship among students. Remember, in 1937, the ‘Nai Talim’ proposed by Mahatma Gandhi in Wardha itself included making mother tongue the medium of instruction in addition to free compulsory education and imparting skill training to students. He was addressing the silver jubilee celebrations organized at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University in Wardha. The Vice President said that Gandhi’s ‘Nai Talim’, research done on his experiences and national studies by the university can be useful for the implementation of education policy. Every Indian language has a glorious history, rich literature, we are fortunate to have linguistic diversity in our country. Our linguistic diversity is our strength, because our languages express our cultural unity.
