Mumbai: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharti Pawar today inaugurated 2 new departments and centers at the International Institute of Population Sciences in Deonar, Mumbai. The newly inaugurated departments are ‘Department of Survey Research and Data Analytics’ and ‘Department of Family and Generation’.
The Health Ministry said that the new departments and centers will work in line with the vision of taking Indian institutions to the global level and making the country self-reliant. The focus area of these new departments and research centers is the well being of the girl child, women and the elderly population. Let us inform that, the Union Health Ministry had approved these departments and centers in IIPS with effect from 1 October 2021.

Dr. Mandaviya, Health Minister at IIPS said, India has a huge population of 1.4 billion and so by using data analysis and artificial intelligence, we may be able to synchronize this huge data into metadata. He said that the International Institute of Population Sciences has the capability to do comprehensive segment analysis and prepare reports on these data, which will be useful not only for India but for the world.
