Thane: In the vaccination of students in the age group of 15 to 18, starting from Monday, January 3, about 4.5 lakh students of Thane district are going to get its benefit. Which is expected to help prevent corona infection.

After this new variant came out in the month of December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to give corona vaccine to students aged 15 to 18 from January 3. Under which now the district administration has started work on a plan to vaccinate students of this age. For this, the District Health Department has also fixed the vaccination center.

However, it is mandatory for the students to register online for this. Due to which these students are going to get rid of the crowd that used to gather at the corona vaccination centers earlier. If we look at the number of students in the age group of 15 to 18 years in the district, then the total number of six municipal corporations, two municipalities and one rural area, their total number is about 4 lakh 53 thousand 154.

The state government has set a target to vaccinate a total of 60 lakh youth. If we look at the figures of the districts of the state, then 15 to 18 age group is on the first number with the highest number of 5 lakh 12 thousand 461 students, while Pune is on the second number, where a total of 4 lakh 53 thousand 190 students of this age are at number one. And Thane is on the third number where 4 lakh 53 thousand 154 students are in the age group of 15 to 18 years.
Emphasis on increasing vaccination in rural areas: Rajesh Narvekar
District Magistrate Rajesh Narvekar instructed the concerned department to start vaccination of students in the age group of 15 to 18 years in the district from Monday as well as increase the vaccination in rural areas. Also said that the vaccination should be reviewed according to the constituency. The central government has approved the vaccination of children. There are about 4.5 lakh students in Thane district. Their vaccination should be planned. Along with this, a plan should be made to vaccinate the students of class 9th to 12th in the school. For this, the District Magistrate Narvekar has also suggested to the concerned department to take the consent letter of the parents before that.
