Pune: Vaccination has been started for children aged 15 to 18 years from January 3 to save the teenagers from Corona. Which is getting a lot of encouragement from the kids. In the midst of the third wave of Corona, children are getting relief from this.
Talking about the last 10 days, about 39 percent adolescents in the age group of 15-18 years in Pune district have been given the first dose of Covaxin vaccine. According to a report by the state health department, till January 12, a total of 2,12,735 beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18 were given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Pune district.
Target of 2.5 lakh children in Pune city
Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical) Pune Circle informed that Pune circle includes Pune, Satara and Solapur districts. He said that at present they have a stock of 25,000 Covaccine vaccine doses and 3.25 lakh Kovashield doses. Deshmukh told that he is expecting one lakh more doses of Covaxin vaccine. There are 5.53 lakhs estimated eligible beneficiaries in this age group. Pune City Immunization Officer Dr. Suryakant Deokar said that their target in the city was 2.5 lakh and so far 52,000 adolescents have been given the first dose of Covaxin.

There is no specific demand for the precautionary dosage in health care and frontline workers and in the age group above 60 years, but health officials have expressed hope that it will improve in a few days. Deshmukh said it is still early days, but appeals are being made to the beneficiaries, especially those above 60 years of age, to take the third dose. According to the information, there are about 4.5 lakh health care and frontline workers in Pune district. A total of 22,290 beneficiaries have taken the precautionary dose in Pune district since the campaign began on January 10.
