New Delhi. After 1,72,433 new cases of COVID-19 (Corona) were reported in India in a day, the number of infected in the country increased to 4,18,03,318. At the same time, the number of patients under treatment has come down to 15,33,921.
According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Thursday, after the death of 1008 more people due to infection in the country, the death toll increased to 4,98,983. Currently, 15,33,921 people are undergoing treatment for corona virus infection in the country, which is 3.67 percent of the total cases of infection.

In the last 24 hours, the number of patients under treatment for COVID-19 has decreased by 87,682. The national recovery rate of patients in the country is 95.14 percent. According to the updated data, the daily rate of infection was recorded at 10.99 per cent and the weekly rate at 12.98 per cent. So far, a total of 3,97,70,414 people have become infection free in the country and the death rate from COVID-19 is 1.19 percent.
So far, more than 167.87 crore doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under the nationwide vaccination campaign. On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, crossed 30 million. On January 26 this year, the cases crossed four crores.
