Nashik : The city bus service started by the City Link Company of the Municipal Corporation for the purpose of maintaining the image of an Environmental Complementary City with enabling public transport has been extended to the citizens. is getting good response. But due to non-availability of CNG gas in sufficient quantity, the expansion of city bus service has stopped.
It is worth noting that the Municipal Corporation started the city bus service in July last year. In the first phase 51 buses were started. The bus service got a good response. The special thing is that due to the very good response from the rural area, the confidence of the Municipal Corporation about the bus service has increased. Till now 51 thousand citizens are traveling by city bus every day. The daily income has also reached to 16 lakhs. After the good response to the bus service, the CityLink company made plans to expand the bus service. As of today, 148 bus is running on CNG. The Municipal Corporation is about to start 102 CNG buses in the city. But the lack of CNG is being felt due to the non-acceleration of the project by the Maharashtra Natural Gas Company. The expansion of bus service has stopped due to non-availability of CNG.

Not getting enough CNG
The contract has been signed between Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) and Municipal Corporation. Under this, CNG gas is supplied for the city bus of the Municipal Corporation at a reduced rate of one rupee. In today’s situation CNG is being available in the form of gas cylinder, in which 98 city buses are running. Municipal Corporation is about to start 50 more CNG buses. But the problem has arisen due to not getting enough CNG.
