fear of falling government
BJP leaders had started siege of the Aghadi government after Chief Minister Thackeray announced the house for 300 MLAs. BJP state president Chandrakant Patil said the decision was taken because Chief Minister Thackeray was afraid that the Aghadi MLAs would run away and the government would fall. He said that earlier the MLA fund of Rs 2 crore was increased to Rs 4 crore. Now it has been increased to Rs 5 crore. The salaries of drivers and assistants of ministers have also been increased. In such a situation, why do MLAs want a house for free?
Young children of martyr jawans, their elderly parents, their widows and families who do not have a roof over their heads. Such needy people should first be given a house free of cost. The question is whether the Aghadi government has made such an announcement due to the fear of the MLAs running away.
Ram Kadam, BJP MLA
We have come into politics for the people. That’s why I urge other MLAs to give up their rights. There are many MLAs like me who have their own house in Mumbai. That’s why I don’t need this house. In such a situation, the house to meet the MLAs should be used for the treatment and convenience of the people.
-Pranati Shinde, Congress MLA
Some MLAs are rich, but their percentage is very less. However, the financial condition of most of the MLAs is not like this. If such MLAs get a house in Mumbai, then they will be facilitated. If MLAs get a house, what is wrong in that?
