- 53 crore electricity bill every year
- 20 lakh rupees per goods
- 05 years ago the plan was made
- 2.56 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions were to be reduced
Nagpur. Medical has to pay Rs 53 crore per year for electricity and water bills. As an alternative to this, the decision to build a solar park was taken 5 years ago, but this project is still on paper. At that time there was a BJP-led government in the state. The government changed and the Ministry gave a blow to the solar park of the medical. At present, electricity is supplied to the medical at commercial rate.
New departments are being created in the medicine included in the major government hospitals of the country. The number of hostels has started increasing. Operation theaters have also increased. Due to this the power supply has also increased. At present, the medical has to pay an electricity bill of Rs 20 lakh every month. This was the reason that the Solar Park scheme was financially affordable, but after the change of power, the plan became pending. This plan was supposed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.56 million tonnes. That is, there was a double benefit to be received from the solar park, but the will power of the government is not there.
Proposal was submitted in 2017
The proposal of solar power project was sent to the government in 2017. At that time the medical inspection was also done by the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency for setting up the solar power project. 8 crore was required for this scheme. The proposal was also recognized but later the file could not proceed. Under the scheme, 1648 kWh of electricity is to be generated from this Sunbless Solar Park scheme made for Medical and Dental College. Casualty, Ward No. Solar panels were to be installed on the roofs of 13, 12, 28, 32, 33, all wings of East, Mard Hostel, Dental College, Hostel, Nursing Hostel.
