Global The historical heritage ‘Mandu’ situated at a distance of 100 km from Indore in the state of Madhya Pradesh, which is called the center of heritage, is now fast emerging on the tourism map of the world. The ancient city of Mandu, a testament to the king-queen love, was known during the time of the Sultans as Shadiabad, which means ‘City of Happiness’.
In collaboration with MP Government’s Tourism Development Board and E-Factor Entertainment, a 5-day Mandu Festival was successfully organized to promote Mandu’s historical heritage along with its supernatural art, culture. Green dense forests, mountains, etc. together with many monuments make Mandu a paradise of Malwa.

Yuvraj Padole, Deputy Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board said that the purpose of conducting Mandu Festival is to bring this historical place on the map of world tourism. Mandu is also excellent from the point of view of art and culture. Deputy Director Yuvraj Padole said that due to the increase in tourism here, there will be an increase in both infrastructure and employment, which will benefit the local people. Mandu is in the list of World Heritage City and is presenting its strong claim in UNESCO. Yuvraj Padole said that every year Mandu festival is getting the benefit, it is attracting a large number of tourists.

Colorful Mandu Festival
Jai Thakor, CEO, E-Factor Entertainment, which has made Mandu festival colorful in association with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, said that Mandu has immense potential for tourism, for which the Madhya Pradesh Government and Tourism Board are making efforts. Local tribal art is being exhibited and employment is being made available to them through Mandu Festival. Heritage walks and Instagram tours, cycle tours, traditional folk arts, photo contests, yoga at Khamba Mahal, cooking, storytelling, crafts, musical atmosphere were provided during the festival. The Maa Narmada Aarti in the evening at Rewa Kund added to the festivities with hot air ballooning air travel providing an immersive experience of exploring the forts and ruins of the city.

State Tourism Department’s Principal Secretary Shiv Shankar Shukla, Minister Usha Thakur, Industries Minister Rajvardhan Singh, City Council President Malti Jairam Gawar, Collector Dr. Pankaj Jain, SP Aditya Pratap Singh etc. were present in the inauguration of the festival. The paraglider also enthralled the tourists a lot. People were also attracted towards Tent City and a large number of people were seen turning towards Tent City. Tourists took a hot air balloon ride.

The main gates are Alamgir Darwaza, Bhangi Darwaza, Rampol Darwaza, Jahangir Darwaza, Tarapur Darwaza etc. Looking at the 120 meters long Jahaz Mahal from a distance, it seems as if a beautiful ship is floating in the middle of the pond. Hoshangshah’s tomb, which is the first such grave made of marble in India, in which the finest specimen of Afghan sculpture is seen. The Jama Masjid here is a replica of a famous mosque in Demascus (the capital of Syria). Ravi Kumar, a tourist from Delhi, said that if Mandu becomes a World Heritage City, then tourists from all over the world will be able to get acquainted with the history of this place.
