Lasalgaon : Due to the remarkable observation of the Himalayas of Yashraj Sandeep Patil, a resident of the city, NASA has honored him and declared him as ‘Emerging Globe Superstar’. In the year 2021, India’s first Earth and Space Modification Program was held in Ladakh.
The main objective of this program is to scientifically study the Himalayas, the Mars-like surface at some places in Ladakh and the Himalayan ecosystem of Ladakh which are rarely found at an altitude of 16,000 feet above sea level. And the special thing is that the ecosystem here is quite different from other ecosystems and their tolerance is also amazing. It is an ecosystem that can withstand low oxygen, and high radiation, sparse rainfall, and even negative temperatures.
