Mumbai: A sensational incident has come to light in Dombivali of Thane district of Maharashtra. Police have recovered the body of a 33-year-old woman from inside the sofa present in her flat.
It is being told that the woman has been identified as Supriya Shinde. She was living with her husband and son in Om Residency Bhawan located in Dawdi area of Dombivali (East). Police said that the incident happened on Tuesday when the woman was alone inside the house while her husband had gone to work and her son had gone to school.

According to a report in Times of India, the police suspect that some unidentified person strangled the woman to death and later packed her body inside the sofa and fled. On returning home in the evening, the husband did not find his wife at home. Later, he started questioning the local people and when the information about the wife was not found, he lodged a complaint with Thane’s Manpada police in the matter.
The report quoted police officials as saying that when the husband contacted the police, the relatives and neighbors who came home saw that the sofa was scattered. When they checked, Supriya’s body was found in the sofa.

On getting information about the incident, top police officials reached the spot and started investigation into the matter. The police have sent the body for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
