A Lynn girl died in a New Hampshire river on Tuesday after she tried to assist her youngster who had slipped into Franconia Falls.
Melissa Bagley, 44, the spouse of an Everett Police lieutenant, drowned following the incident within the White Mountain National Forest on Tuesday afternoon.
“The Everett Police Department is sad to report the sudden passing of Melissa Bagley 44 yrs of age, wife of Lt. Sean Bagley who died during a family outing along the river in the White Mountain area yesterday afternoon,” Everett Police wrote on Wednesday.
New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol at round 3:56 p.m., obtained a name for an individual trapped and a medical emergency at Franconia Falls.
Marine Patrol, New Hampshire Fish and Game, Lincoln Fire Rescue, Lincoln Police and Linwood Ambulance responded to the scene.
Police realized {that a} household of 5 from Lynn and a pal from Salem had hiked to Franconia Falls.
While on the falls, the household’s 10-year-old son fell into the water — requiring different members of the family to enter the swimming pools to assist the kid. The household was capable of rescue the 10-year-old boy, however two different members of the family grew to become trapped within the rocks and present.
Melissa Bagley was one of many two different members of the family who grew to become trapped. She was discovered within the water under the falls and regardless of resuscitation efforts by members of the family, she was pronounced useless.
The different trapped member of the family, an 18-year-old male, was free of the water. He sustained accidents and was transported to Littleton Hospital.
This is an ongoing investigation, however alcohol and medicines don’t look like an element, in line with New Hampshire State Police.
