Lahore, a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan, was partitioned between India and Pakistan in 1947 and the city moved to the Pak border. But many Indians have a deep connection with this city. Even today, from Bollywood to India’s industrial houses and politics, there are some people who were either born in this city or their ancestors lived in this city. Now if we tell you that Lord Ram’s sons Love and Kush also have a deep connection with Pakistan. You may not believe it at first, but it is true. Both sons of Lord Ram are closely related to Lahore in Pakistan.
Love settled Lahore
According to Hindu beliefs, Lahore derives its name from Lovepuri and was founded by Love. It is said that when Lord Rama decided to go to Vanaprastha, he handed over his kingdom to his sons Luv and Kush on the refusal of Bharata. Lord Shri Ram assigned Kusha to South Kosala, Kushasthali (Kushavati) and the kingdom of Ayodhya and gave Punjab to Luv. Love made Lavpuri his capital. This is Lavpuri today known as Lahore. However, this is not mentioned in the Valmiki Ramayana.
Love temple inside Lahore Fort!
In Pakistan, there is also a temple called Love Temple in the name of Love. This temple is inside the Lahore Fort. At the time when there was a kingdom of Sikhs in Punjab, it is said that this temple was built at that time. However, this temple is now empty and there is no one to take care of it. Lahore is the second-most populous city in Pakistan after Karachi. It is also called the heart of Pakistan because this city has been extremely rich in history, culture and education. Today, where there is Taxila, there was the rule of Pushkar in Bharat’s son Taksh and Pushkaravati i.e. Peshawar. The Kushavati ruled by Luv’s twin brother Kush is known today as Kasur district in Punjab.
