Pimpri: Some long distance trains will resume at Chinchwad and Karjat railway stations in Maval Lok Sabha constituency. Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne said that the facility of making one-month, three-month pass will be resumed for citizens traveling between Pune-Mumbai-Pune. Barne said that Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve has given such instructions to the concerned officers.
MP Barne met Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve to discuss the resumption of long distance trains and introduction of pass facilities at Karjat and Chinchwad stations. He spoke about the problems of the citizens.
People are facing problems due to non-stop train
MP Shrirang Barne said that after the Corona period, trains do not stop at Chinchwad and Karjat railway stations of Maval Lok Sabha constituency. This is causing a lot of trouble to the citizens. There is a great need to stop trains at both these stations. A large number of citizens from Maval Lok Sabha constituency travel to Mumbai and Pune for work. After Corona, citizens are facing problems due to non-stop trains at Chinchwad, Karjat railway station. Hence Barne requested to stop the trains at both these stations.

MP Shrirang Barne said that after the Corona period, trains have started running as before. With a reserved ticket, any ticket issuer was allowed to travel by train. In MMRDA area all trains going from CSTM to Kasara, Karjat, Khopoli, CSTM to Pen, Roha, Churchgate, Dahanu of Central and Western Railway stop at Karjat. Which has now been closed, so citizens face difficulties in catching trains. Apart from this, the railway station in Pen taluka of Raigad district has also been closed. Trains running between Dadar and Ratnagiri were also stopped. Thus passengers are being harassed through Central and Western Railway. Earlier Deccan Express stopped at Chinchwad and Karjat railway stations. Now their halt has been shifted to Lonavala. Therefore the citizens of Karjat station have to go to Kalyan, Badlapur station to catch the train.
Konark Express earlier halted at Karjat station.
The Central Railway Authority has stopped many trains at Chinchwad in Karjat. Citizens working in second shift use Konark Express for citizens of Badlapur, Neral, Ambernath, Khopoli and Karjat. Though Konark Express reaches Pune late at night. This is causing inconvenience to the citizens. Earlier this train used to stop at Karjat station. However, due to the closure of the stop here, citizens have to go to Kalyan station. The first train from Kalyan to Karjat is at 5.30 am. Citizens have to wait for the train since 3 am.
Intercity Express also stopped in Karjat
18 trains from South India like Chennai, Konark, Kanyakumari, Mahalakshmi, Sinhagad, Ahimsa, Kolhapur, Sahyadri, Deccan Express stop at Karjat, Chinchwad station which have been closed. Intercity Express which started from 1st December has also been stopped in Karjat. Earlier the intercity used to stop at Karjat station, but now that the stop is closed, there is huge resentment among the citizens of Karjat, Kalyan. Citizens are demanding to stop more and more trains at Chinchwad, Karjat station.
Demand to restore pass facility also
MP Barne demanded to stop all trains at Chinchwad, Karjat railway station as before for the convenience of citizens. He also demanded restoration of the pass facility. Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve has summoned the concerned officials. Ordered some long distance trains to stop at Chinchwad, Karjat stations. He also directed to resume the facility of passes. He also said that stopping long distance trains will bring great convenience to the citizens.
