Mumbai: The RPF team of Western Railway arrested 12 women with 1,536 bottles of illicit alcohol. RPF got the news of large scale smuggling of liquor through women in the railway premises. In view of the unnecessarily repeated pulling of alarm chains in passenger trains between Vapi and Bagwara of Western Railway for the past several days, the RPF team stepped up surveillance. During this, 12 outside women were caught carrying illegal liquor.
It is noteworthy that liquor is banned in Gujarat, in view of this, liquor is transported illegally on a large scale from Mumbai, Daman. For this the train is used. Some women used to pull the chain of the train in the middle and stop it.

According to CPRO Sumit Thakur, in view of the increasing cases of pulling unnecessary alarm chains, the RPF kept a secret surveillance on these suspicious cases. RPF team apprehended 12 women carrying heavy goods near railway track in west of Vapi Bagwada railway zone at 6.30 pm on Sunday. During interrogation, the women came to know that they had illicit liquor. The women were brought to RPF Post, Vapi for examination, in which 1,536 bottles were found in about 32 boxes. Whose value was 70,000 rupees. During investigation it was found that one of the women involved in illegal liquor business used to board the train from Vapi station and pull the alarm chain in Vapi-Bagwara section, after which other outside women would board the train and take liquor midway.
