The accused Shankar Gulab Dhavral, a resident of Savali (Bu) and Karanja, was told that the accused Shankar Dhavral was in the business of selling illegal liquor. On April 2014, Digambar Bhankhede, a policeman of Karanja police station, along with his team had gone out to take action on liquor vendors at 7.30 pm.
At that time, this action was being taken due to the Lok Sabha elections, during the patrolling, the police reached the house of accused Shankar in Savli Bu, at that time Shankar was seen running away with some things in his hand. After picking up he fled away, after reaching his house, the wife of the accused, Lakshmi Dhavral, was lying covered with blood, she had lost her life after seeing that her body was attacked with weapons.

In the case, a case was registered on the complaint of policeman Digambar Bhankhede, on investigation, it was Shankar who came to the fore about killing his wife on suspicion of character, in the case, Karanja police took him into custody. Statements of total 10 witnesses were examined on behalf of the government side, no eyewitness was present in the case, only the circumstantial evidence and the report of chemical analysis made it clear that blood stains were found on the clothes of the accused. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, Judge AN Karmarkar sentenced the accused Shankar Dhabral to life imprisonment and fine.
