Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has fulfilled the much awaited demand of three-tier Panchayats by making them more empowered and increasing their honorarium. The Chief Minister also made it clear that no institution or person would have the right to exploit the Panchayat representatives.
While removing the hurdles in the development of the Panchayats, the Chief Minister made the process simple and called for the Panchayats to move towards making Smart Villages (villages) on the lines of Smart City, the State Government would reward the Gram Panchayats for doing so. . He said that if the triple engine government of panchayats along with the double engine government of the Center and the state becomes a partner in development, then no power can stop Uttar Pradesh from making the country’s No. 1 economy.
Representatives have to work in the spirit of competition in development
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was addressing the Gram Utkarsh Samaroh (Gram Panchayat Sammelan) organized in the capital on Wednesday as the chief guest. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated 42478 Gram Panchayat Bhavans and 58189 Gram Sachivalayas and Panchayat Portal by pressing the button. Also, out of 356 selected for the award for remarkable work, five village heads were honored. Underlining the importance of three-tier panchayats, Chief Minister Yogi said that village panchayats are the axis of development in the true sense. The State Government will not allow paucity of funds to come in the way of development of Gram Panchayat, Kshetra Panchayat and District Panchayat. Panchayat representatives will also have to work in the spirit of competition in development. The government is standing with them.

Panchayat representatives bat-bat, increased honorarium
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has fulfilled his big wish by drastically increasing the honorarium of three-tier Panchayat representatives. Yogi government has increased the honorarium of village heads from Rs 3500 to Rs 5000. The Block Pramukh will get 11300 instead of 9800 and the District Panchayat President will now get an honorarium of Rs 15500 instead of 14000. Similarly, Gram Panchayat member will get Rs 100 per meeting. There will be 12 meetings of the Gram Panchayat in a year. In this sequence, BDC (Kshetra Panchayat member) will get Rs 1000 per meeting instead of Rs 500. There will be six meetings of the Kshetra Panchayat in a year. District Panchayat member will now get 1500 rupees per meeting instead of 1000 rupees and District Panchayat will also have six meetings in a year.

The Yogi government has made a big announcement on Wednesday to give social security to the Panchayat representatives. Announcing this in the conference, the Chief Minister said that Gram Panchayat Fund would be constituted in every village panchayat. From this fund, in case of accidental accident, 10 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of the village head, 5 lakh to the Zilla Panchayat member, 3 lakh to the Kshetra Panchayat member and 2 lakh to the family members of the Gram Panchayat member.
