Welfare : The Titwala Police of Kalyan Rural Complex has arrested three persons for throwing stones at a stone quarry in an Aboriginal village of Kalyan taluka. In protest against this arrest, the tribals reached the police station and protested, they said that these arrests are illegal, seeing that the police is not listening to us, the tribals started the traditional tribal dance in the police station premises demanding their arrest. The movement was carried out by women tribals dancing, singing songs and making announcements.
Seeing all this, the police were stunned. The police asked the tribals to stop dancing, but the tribals rejected it and continued their protest movement. Seeing this unique movement of tribals, a crowd had gathered outside the police station. There are large mines in the Kamba area of Kalyan taluka. Local tribals have been opposing the mine for years. Local people say that their lives are in danger due to the continuous explosions in the stone quarries. Tribals have repeatedly given this information to the District Collector. A few days ago, Abhijit Bhande Patil, the provincial officer of Kalyan, had accepted this. These tribes have been residing in this place for hundreds of years. Provincial officials had said that they would inspect the place and solve the problem.
