Bhandara, District and Additional Sessions Judge Smt. Anju Shende, aged 40 years, has been sentenced to life imprisonment and fine to Vasudev Ilpate, a resident of Old Ambagad Complex under Andhalgaon Police Station. It is noteworthy that on April 11, 2018, accused Vasudev had beaten to death one and the relatives of the deceased in a dispute over toilet construction.
In this regard, the government side told that on 12 April 2018, the complainant woman had come and lodged a complaint at Andhalgaon police station that there was a dispute with the accused Vasudev for two years regarding the construction of toilets. There were minor quarrels between the husband of the plaintiff and the accused. In the morning on April 11, when the deceased was in the house under the influence of alcohol. He came out saying good and bad to his son. At the same time the accused Vasudev also came out and understood that he was being abused. After this the accused started beating the deceased, demanding the deceased, brother and all. When the old parents intervened to save their son. Attacked them too. It was as if a ghost was riding on the head of the accused. He took her to the road beating him. Because he had beaten him with an axe. He died on the spot due to a sharp wound.
Police Sub-Inspector Ravindra Mhaiskar immediately reached the spot to investigate the matter. Preliminary investigation was done. Panchnama was prepared. The accused was absconding. Guna was registered against accused Vasudev under section 302, 323. He was arrested on 12 April 2018.
After receiving proper and solid evidence, the charge sheet was filed in the Additional Sessions Court, Bhandara. The matter was heard by Additional Sessions Judge Smt. Anju Shende.
In this case, Assistant Government Advocate Ed. Ramakant Khatri argued on behalf of the aggrieved party. After completing the hearing, on the basis of the evidence presented on February 10, 2022, accused Vasudev Nathu Ilpate, age 40, was sentenced to life imprisonment under section 302 and a fine of Rs 5000. In default of payment of fine, he was sentenced to simple imprisonment for two months.
