Ranchi : BSF jawan Sandeep Kumar Singh, a resident of Dhanbad, was martyred when a mortar shell exploded in the army’s firing range in Kishangarh, Rajasthan on Sunday. More than five jawans have been injured in this incident. According to the information received, this incident happened on Sunday in the Kishangarh Field Firing Range located in Jaisalmer district of the Indian Army located on the Pakistan International Border.
Here, BSF jawan Sandeep Singh, resident of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, died due to a mortar shell exploded. Five jawans were injured in this incident. When the news of Sandeep Kumar Singh’s death reached Charakkala village of Tundi block of Dhanbad, mourning spread. Sandeep got married only four years back.

The accident happened during the exercise in the firing range
BSF personnel were engaged in regular exercises on Sunday at the Kishangarh firing range located near Tanot on the Indo-Pak border. Meanwhile, this accident happened in the morning. There was chaos as soon as the mortar shell exploded and the injured jawans were immediately rushed to the nearby Ramgarh hospital and their treatment was started there. During treatment, the doctors declared Sandeep Kumar brought dead.
The soldiers jumped like a football while heating the bonfire
According to the information, the soldiers who came to the firing range for practice started heating the bonfire after seeing a clear place there due to cold. Little did they know that a living bomb was buried beneath it. In no time the heat of the fire reached the bomb buried in the ground and it exploded strongly. The explosion was so strong that the jawans jumped and fell for a long distance and there was chaos. A BSF jawan was martyred in the accident.

As soon as the accident happened, fellow soldiers took care of the injured and took everyone by ambulance to Ramgarh Hospital. On getting information about the accident, top BSF officials reached Ramgarh Hospital. After taking information about the accident, he sent the injured to Jaisalmer for better treatment. On information, Ramgarh Police Officer Chunilal Vishnoi also reached the hospital along with the police force and started investigation into the accident. There was panic after this accident.

Firing drills often go on in the Kishangarh Field Firing Range. During firing, there are some bombs that do not explode and remain buried in the ground. Due to lack of contract to pick up scrap in this range, the scrap of the firing going on for the last five years has been scattered in the range itself. There are several live bombs buried in the ground. Had the contract to pick up scrap had been done from here, then this accident might not have happened.
Sandeep got married in 2017, a three-year-old girl
BCF jawan Sandeep Singh, who was martyred in the accident, was a resident of Charakkala village of Maniadih police station area of Tundi block of Dhanbad. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of sorrow in the entire Tundi including his house. In May 2017, they got married in Chatra village of Podeyahat, Godda. They have a three year old daughter Soumya Singh. The BSF officials informed about the incident to the people of the house on the phone in the morning. After the incident, mourning has spread at his Tundi residence.
