Srinagar.An encounter started between security forces and terrorists in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir today, in which one terrorist has been killed and his identity is yet to be identified. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Mumanhal village in Arwani area of the district after receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of militants, a police official said.

The militants opened fire on the security forces following which the security forces also retaliated and the search operation turned into an encounter, the official said. As of now, there is no news of any casualty in this.

On this, a police spokesperson had said, “Acting on the basis of confidential information, police, army and CRPF arrested two terrorists belonging to banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba from Magam area of Budgam. Along with this, it was told that the arrested terrorists have been identified as Mohammad Shafi Ganai and Zahoor Ahmed Chopan.
