Srinagar. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. A police spokesman said that following information about the presence of militants, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hasanpura village of Kulgam district. During the search operation, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, after which the force also retaliated and the encounter started.

In this regard, Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said that both the terrorists were local and were associated with ‘The Resistance Front’ affiliated to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Not only this, he was also involved in many terrorist crimes. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has identified both the terrorists as Amir Ahmed Wani of Alamganj in Shopian and Sameer Ahmed Khan of Tiken, Pulwama.
Budgam encounter: 3 terrorists killed
Significantly, earlier on Thursday, three Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. A police official said on Friday that an encounter broke out late Thursday night in Jolwa village of Budgam district, in which three terrorists were killed.
