Aurangabad : The Union Culture Minister of the country, Kishan Reddy, assured the Jain Federation that the Jain Kirti Stambh located in front of the world famous Ellora Caves in the district would not be removed. Recently, the officials of Jain Federation reached Hyderabad and met Culture Minister Kishan Reddy and submitted a memorandum. After that Reddy gave this assurance.
Sandeep Bhandari, the National General Secretary of the Jain Federation, who was involved in the delegation, said that the Jain Samaj delegation, under the leadership of Lalit Gandhi, the National President of the All India Jain Minority Federation, met Union Culture Minister Kishan Reddy in Hyderabad. In the meeting, the officials of the Jain Federation told that the Archaeological Survey of India has prepared a proposal to remove the Jain pillar installed near the World Heritage Ellora about 48 years ago, which has been sent to the headquarters of the department, Delhi. The Archaeological Survey Department has informed the State Tourism Department and the District Administration about this proposal. But, the officials of the Archaeological Department did not consider it appropriate to discuss this with the officials of the local Jain Federation.

Due to which there is a lot of resentment in the Jain society with this decision of the Department of Archeology. To express this displeasure, the officials of the Jain Federation met Culture Minister Kishan Reddy in Hyderabad and apprised them of the hurt feelings by this decision of the Archaeological Department. After which Kishan Reddy assured the Jain Federation that the Jain pillar in front of the Ellora caves would not be removed. He clearly said that soon after talking to the Archaeological Department, the order will also be taken out. He said that the government would not take any such step if the sentiments of the peace-loving Jain community are hurt. Kishan Reddy said that soon a joint meeting of the Archaeological Department, senior officers of Culture Department, delegation of Jain society will be organized regarding non-removal of Jain pillar located in front of Ellora caves. A video has also been circulated after his assurance. At the time of meeting Reddy, the president of Andhra Pradesh department of the federation Mukesh Chauhan, Telangana department president Vimal Nahar, Digambar Samaj officials Ashok Pahade, Mithun Porwal etc. were present.
