Israel has instructed its citizens to refrain from traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries of the Middle East. The reason behind this is the threat of attack by arch-rival Iran. The National Security Agency of Israel on Monday cited the threat of an attack by arch enemy Iran, asking tourists to exercise caution while traveling in the UAE and other Gulf countries.
UAE’s Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well as Bahrain have been included in this warning given by the National Security Agency. Significantly, both the UAE and Bahrain have established diplomatic relations with Israel under the historic agreement signed by the US. The agency’s Anti-Terrorism Office said in a statement, “Our guess is that Iran will continue to work in the coming times to harm the people of Israel.”
Israeli citizens given instructions to avoid going to these countries
The statement released by the agency includes Georgia, Azerbaijan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain and the Kurdish areas of Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Egypt as countries where Israeli citizens should avoid going. Relations between the UAE and Israel returned to normal last year. Since then, UAE has become a popular tourist destination among Israeli citizens. However, travel advisories were already issued for the UAE’s visit.
