World powers reinstated the ongoing negotiations on the Nuclear Deal in the Austrian capital, Vienna.
Symbolic picture
The ongoing negotiations between Iran and world powers regarding the Nuclear Deal are back on track. World powers restored high-level talks to Mangalyavar in Vienna, the capital of Austria. At the same time, emphasis was laid on the withdrawal of America in this nuclear deal. Significantly, the former US President Donald Trump pulled America out of this nuclear deal. After this, he once again imposed economic sanctions on Tehran.
At the same time, some time ago the Iranian Foreign Minister alleged that Russia once tried to break this agreement. The Russian Foreign Ministry has not yet commented on the comments of Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. This comment was made by Jawad in a seven-hour interview with a thinktank associated with the Iranian Presidency. This interview was revealed on the weekend.
Russia did not comment on Iranian foreign minister’s allegations
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s top representative at the Vienna Talks, also said before the meeting that he would meet with officials of Iran and China on the occasion. He, however, did not comment on Zarif’s allegations. He tweeted, we discussed how to proceed towards the implementation of the nuclear deal. It was a meaningful meeting. After the main meetings with his counterparts from China, Germany, France and Britain, he said that they are guided by the unity of purpose.
Representatives from China, Germany, France and Britain also attend the meeting
China’s representative Wang Qun said that the discussion will continue on Wednesday. Ulyanov was most optimistic that Tehran and Washington would agree on the terms of joining the US agreement in 2015. Ulyanov is involved with representatives from China, Germany, France and the UK for talks to be chaired by the European Union. The EU delegation said prior to the talks, participants would continue to discuss the possible withdrawal of the US in the agreement and how to ensure full and effective implementation of the agreement.
America was pulled out of the agreement in 2018
The US is not on the negotiating table because the US unilaterally pulled out of the agreement in 2018 at the time of the then President Donald Trump. The agreement promises Iran economic incentives in exchange for restrictions on its nuclear program. On the other hand, now the administration of President Joe Biden is looking forward to rejoining the deal.
