Meeting on Iran nuclear deal in Vienna’s Grand Hotel
Iran Nuclear Deal and US: Negotiations have started once again with Iran on the Nuclear Deal of 2015. The talks were held on Friday as part of efforts to bring the US back into the deal. In which there has been no immediate progress on complex issues involving differences between Washington and Tehran, but the delegates involved in the talks expressed the hope of a positive atmosphere and promised to continue the negotiations (Iran Nuclear Deal Explained). France, Germany, Britain, China and Russia are still parties to this agreement with Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) (Iran Nuclear Deal Explained in Hindi). The meeting is taking place at a time when Russia’s representative said three days ago that they have agreed to lift the sanctions and set up expert-level groups on nuclear issues. (Iran Nuclear Deal Conditions) Russian representative Mikhail Ulyanov tweeted on Friday that the participants of the meeting expressed satisfaction with the initial progress.
The meeting will be held again next week
He said, “The Commission will meet again next week to maintain a positive atmosphere.” The meeting took place in the absence of the US, which had unilaterally pulled out of the nuclear deal (Iran Nuclear Deal and Sanctions). However, a US delegation led by special envoy for Iran under Joe Biden’s administration is also in the Austrian capital this week (Iran Nuclear Deal Agreement). Representatives of other global superpowers are trying to negotiate indirectly between the US and Iran.
What does biden say?
US President Biden has said that he wants to bring the US back into the agreement but Iran should stop violations of the agreement (Iran Nuclear Deal Countries). Significantly, the former US President Donald Trump had pulled the US out of this agreement. Since then, tensions between the US and Iran have steadily increased. Both countries openly criticized each other. But when Biden took over as president, there was a change in this direction (Iran Nuclear Deal Analysis). Biden made a commitment to bring the US back into the agreement.
