Pimpri : During the IPL cricket match, which is called the season of bookies, a big racket of betting has been exposed in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Anti-goonda squad raided a flat in Kalevadi on Saturday night and arrested three people, including a vicious miscreant. Here betting was being taken on the match being played between Gujarat and Delhi. In this raid, cash worth Rs.27 lakh has been recovered. Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash also reached the spot and reviewed the action and appreciated the police team for this big achievement.
The accused arrested in this raid are Sunny alias Bhupendrasinh Charanjit Singh Gill (38, resident of Vaibhav Paradise, Rajwadhenagar, Kalewadi, Pune), Rikki Rajesh Khemchandani (36, resident of Baldevnagar, behind Deluxe Theatre, Pimpri, Pune) and Subhash Ramkisan Agarwal. (57, Resident Nanekarchal, Near Pimpri Railway Station, Pune). Apart from them, a case has been registered against Sunny Sukheja (resident Pimpri, Pune) under Section 353, 34 of the Indian Penal Code, Section 4, 5 of the Maharashtra Gambling Act and Section 21 of the Indian Telegraph Act.

Three people were present here, who were taken into custody. 27 lakh 25 thousand 450 rupees in cash, 8 mobile phones and other gambling related material were recovered from the spot. During the action, accused Sunny Gill tried to intimidate and put pressure on the police team by telling his ‘high’ reach. This is considered to be the biggest action taken against bookies during this season of IPL. This has created panic among the bookies of the city. However, during this big action, Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash himself and Crime Branch Assistant Police Commissioner Prashant Amritkar reached here and inquired about the raid and patted the police team.
