Nagpur. Inter-city Freedom to Walk and Cycle Campaign to be organized from January 1 to 26 with the aim of promoting cycling and walking under the joint aegis of Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation and Municipal Corporation on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav year of Indian Independence. Information Smart City CEO Bhuvaneshwari S. gave in the letter-council.
He said that the undertaking is being organized as per the directions of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Urban Development. Cycling and walking are being encouraged with the aim of providing health benefits to the people and reducing pollution. To participate in the campaign, the people of the city will be able to register on the Smart City link.
Prizes to the winners of the competition
He said that a competition is also being organized in this context. The cycling and walking record of the people of the city involved in this will be kept recorded in the mobile application. Winners will be selected from amongst the maximum number of registrations and maximum number of kilometers cyclists and pedestrians. Bhuvaneshwari S. did it. The winners will be honored with prizes during an event to be held in Surat in February.
Marathon on January 2nd
Marathon event is being organized on January 2 under the joint aegis of Municipal Corporation, Smart City and AIESEC. The competition is being held under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Run for Global Goals in which there are 3 categories namely 21 KM, 10 KM, and 3 KM.
