Talodhi: On Wednesday 16 February, a chital injured in an unidentified vehicle collision on Talodhi-Neri road going from Govindpur Bit under Talodhi Balapur forest range.
On getting information about the incident, the area assistant and forest guard of Govindpur started treatment by bringing a 9 to 10 month old female chital to the nursery of Savargaon in injured condition. He died during treatment on the morning of Friday 18 February. Chital’s dead body was burnt after naming it.
At this time Govindpur Bit Area Assistant RS Gaikwad, Forest Guard PM Shrirame, Swab Nature Care President, Mahesh Borkar, Bharat Chunarkar, Nursery Forester D. W. In the presence of Yedne, B Pakde of Van Mazdoor etc., the deceased Chital was burnt in Savargaon Nursery.
Hundreds of such wildlife are dying in road accidents. In this, Nagpur_Mul_Chandrapur Highway has gone from Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Project, Karandla Sanctuary and Ghodajhari Sanctuary. Due to being a highway, the vehicles passing through the road run at high speed. Due to this route passing through the forest, many wildlife crosses the route.
In which these wildlife die in the collision of some unknown vehicle. Apart from chital, animals like wagh, leopard, bear, sambar, jackal, snake, ketchhuva, and udvilava are killed in road accidents due to being hit by vehicles.
Forest department, wildlife lover, environmentalist organization, while constructing the road of the Public Works Department in this context, have seriously considered this and demanded that such road construction or speed breakers be installed on the roads. There has been a demand to make a measure plan for the construction of ‘Uddan bridge’ or construction of Bhuyari road at the accident prone place of wildlife.
