New Delhi: Indrani Mukerjea, the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, has moved the Supreme Court. Indrani has filed a petition in the Supreme Court in the matter after not getting bail from the Bombay High Court. Earlier, Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer had spoken of approaching the Supreme Court for bail if she did not get relief from the Bombay High Court.
According to ANI, Indrani Mukerjea has filed a bail plea in the Supreme Court. The matter has been adjourned for Monday (February 14) as the court did not receive the copy of the order. Mukherjee is in judicial custody of a special CBI court in the Sheena Bora murder case.

It is noteworthy that Indrani Mukerjea has been lodged in Mumbai’s Bhaikhala Women’s Prison since her arrest in August 2015. Earlier, the special CBI court had refused bail to Indrani several times. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the 2012 murder case. Indrani Mukerjea is facing trial for the alleged murder of her daughter Sheena Bora (24).

It is alleged that Sheena Bora was strangled to death in a car in April 2012 and the body was disposed of in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Apart from Indrani, her driver Shyamvar Rai and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna were also arrested by the Mumbai Police after the murder came to light in 2015. However, later the investigation of this case was handed over to the CBI from the Mumbai Police.
