New Delhi. After 1,685 new cases of COVID-19 (Corona) were reported in India in a day, the number of people infected with the corona virus in the country so far increased to 4,30,16,372. At the same time, the number of patients under treatment has come down to 21,530. According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Friday, after the death of 83 more people in the country, the death toll due to infection increased to 5,16,755.

The number of patients under treatment for COVID-19 in the country has come down to 21,530, which is 0.05 percent of the total cases. In the last 24 hours, the number of patients under treatment has decreased by 897. The national recovery rate of patients is 98.75 percent. As per the updated data, the daily rate of infection was recorded at 0.24 per cent and the weekly rate at 0.33 per cent. So far, more than 78.56 crore samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the country, out of which 6,91,425 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 4,24,78,087 people have become infection free in the country and the death rate from COVID-19 is 1.20 percent.
At the same time, more than 182.55 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign. It is noteworthy that on 7 August 2020, the number of infected in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020, 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November.
On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it crossed 30 million. On January 26 this year, the cases had crossed four crores. According to ministry data, 83 cases of death due to infection were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, out of which 74 cases were from Kerala. According to the data, a total of 5,16,755 people have died due to infection in the country, out of which 1,43,772 people from Maharashtra, 67,550 people from Kerala, 40,044 people from Karnataka, 38,025 people from Tamil Nadu, 26,149 people from Delhi, North There were 23,492 people from the state and 21,197 people from West Bengal.
The Health Ministry said that out of those who have died due to corona virus infection so far, more than 70 percent of the patients also had other diseases. The ministry said on its website that its data is being matched with the data of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
