- Incidents that came to light in Bhendala and Digras
Yavatmal / Mukutban. In the rural areas of Yavatmal district these days, incidents of soybean theft from the fields are coming to the fore. Incidents of soybean theft have occurred in Bhendala of Jhari Jamni tehsil and Ramnagar farm premises of Digras tehsil.
According to the information received, farmer Purushottam Meshram, resident of Bhendala of Jhari Jamni tehsil, has a farm near the village. The farmer had kept 18 quintals of soybeans in the field of the field. The unknown thief broke the lock of the farm’s enclosure and entered inside and cleaned his hands on soybean worth 90 thousand rupees. A complaint in the matter was registered at Mukutban police station. The matter is being investigated under the guidance of SHO Ajit Jadhav.
Another similar incident has come to the fore in Ramnagar farm premises of Digras police station area. Farmer Vitthal Rathod, who lives in Vaigaul of Manora tehsil, has a farm in the Ramnagar complex. The farmer had kept 9 quintals of soybeans, four quintals of tur in the warehouse built in this field. Unknown thieves broke into the godown of the farm during the night and cleared their hands on goods worth 67 thousand 500 rupees including soybean and tur. Digras police is investigating the matter.
Four quintals of cotton stolen from the field in Shekapur
An unknown thief cleaned four quintals of cotton and 10 sprinkler pipes from the farm of Ganesh Pidurkar, a resident of Shekapur in Jhari Jamani tehsil area.
Ganesh Pidurkar, a farmer living in Shekapur, has a 6-acre farm. On Friday morning when the farmers arrived in the field to irrigate the crops. While giving water to wheat, he did not see the pipe near the borewell. On going to find the pipe, he also found the cotton kept in the bullock cart missing.
On coming to know about the theft of cotton and pipe, farmer Pidurkar went to Mukutban police station and lodged a complaint. Unknown thief cleaned his hands on goods worth 48 thousand rupees including four quintals of cotton and 10 pipes from the farm of farmer Pidurkar. Sandeep Kumre, Mohan Kudmethe, Sanjay Khandekar and Santosh Madavi are investigating the matter under the guidance of SHO Ajit Jadhav.
