Aurangabad: In the last one and a half months, 45,768 farmers of Aurangabad region have paid electricity bills worth Rs 24.75 crore by availing the opportunity to get 66% discount in their electricity bills. 3 thousand 124 farmers of the region are completely free from arrears. Mahavitaran has appealed to the remaining farmers to cooperate by paying their electricity bills and avoid any action.
In the Maha Krishi Urja Abhiyan, if these farmers pay 50 percent of the existing electricity bill and revised dues by March 2022, they will get another exemption of Rs 811.71 crore. Out of the basic arrears of 1 lakh 29 thousand 728 farmers of Jalna district, Rs 775 crore 69 lakh has been waived. If these farmers pay 50 per cent of the existing electricity bill and revised dues by March 2022, Rs 507.40 crore will be waived off.

In just one and a half months from November 1 to December 20, 32 thousand 62 farmers of Aurangabad district have paid Rs 17 crore 55 lakh and 13 thousand 706 farmers of Jalna district have paid Rs 7 crore 19 lakh. Till now 2 thousand 252 farmers in Aurangabad district and 872 farmers of Jalna district have been completely freed from the arrears by paying the current electricity bill along with 50% of the revised dues. MSEDCL is currently in serious financial crisis due to huge arrears of electricity bills. So farmers are required to pay the current electricity bills of agricultural pumps. Hence, it is in the process of disrupting the power supply of agricultural pumps of those farmers who are not participating in the scheme and have not paid their current electricity bills. Therefore, Mahavitaran has appealed to the farmers to pay their current electricity bills regularly.
Arrival of arrears free farmers
Kautikarao Nathji Narwade of Gandeli was owed Rs 2 lakh 51 thousand 159 for his agricultural pump. He paid the remaining electricity bill of Rs 67 thousand 970 while getting a discount of Rs 1 lakh 83 thousand 189 under Maha Krishi Urja Abhiyan. Along with this, a bill of Rs 56,757 was outstanding for Ashru Punjaji Dighule of Bhalgaon. He got a discount of Rs 24,367 in this scheme and paid the remaining Rs 32,390 electricity bill. On Monday (December 20), two outstanding customers were honored by Praveen Daroli, Superintendent Engineer, Aurangabad Rural Circle. Executive Minister Vishnu Dhakne, Assistant Engineer Manish Dighule, Assistant Accountant Sunil Bansod were present on the occasion.
