Six months ago, distance was made from politics
About six months ago, Rajinikanth had announced not to join politics in December 2020. Shortly before this, he had announced his entry into politics and said that he would make announcements related to it by the end of the year 2020 i.e. December 31, but on December 29, he distanced himself from it due to health reasons. However, he also said that even without entering politics, he would continue to work for the betterment of the people. A few days before Rajinikanth took this decision, he was admitted due to blood pressure problem during the shooting of a Tamil film. Two days after being discharged from the hospital, he had announced to stay away from politics.

There was a relationship even before politics
It is not that the influence of the megastar of South Indian films, Rajinikanth is visible in politics for the first time. Earlier, during the 1996 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, he had said that even God could not save the state if Jayalalithaa’s AIDMK party returned to power. The effect was that the then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa herself lost her seat and her party got only four seats with a loss of 216 seats and DMK’s M Karunanidhi formed the government with 221 seats in the state. After the demise of Jayalalithaa in 2016 and Karunanidhi in 2018, a void has been created in Tamil politics. Since then, people’s eyes were constantly on Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Kamal Hassan has tried his luck in Tamil Nadu elections this year and he could not win. On the other hand, Rajinikanth had announced to stay away from politics a few months before the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu in 2021 this year.
