Bhopal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued an ‘Orange Alert’ in 19 districts of Madhya Pradesh amid the forecast of thunder, lightning, hail and rain. has done. The IMD has also issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ of moderate and dense fog at isolated places in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Niwari, Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh districts.
Both the alerts are in effect till Saturday morning, an official said. He said that Orange Alert is for Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Datia, Ashok Nagar, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Rajgarh, Agar Malwa, Vidisha, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Niwari, Damoh and Sagar districts.
Senior meteorologist at IMD’s Bhopal office P.K. Saha said that the cyclonic circulation was over central Madhya Pradesh while another cyclonic circulation was over South Pakistan and adjoining southwest Rajasthan. Due to this, moisture remains in Madhya Pradesh. He said that there is a possibility of cloudy sky for two-three days, which will give relief to the people from the cold. However, after three days in West Madhya Pradesh, the minimum temperature is expected to drop and become colder.
