New Delhi: Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim is celebrating his 33rd birthday today. He was born on this day on 18 December 1988 in Swansea, Gleaborgon, Wales (England). Wasim’s cricketing journey is really interesting. Wasim initially wanted to become a doctor, but moved to Pakistan to fulfill his dream of playing cricket. Where he got his first chance and emerged as an important part of Pakistan’s limited overs team. Imad is also a handy lower-order batsman who has played many important innings for the national team.
Wasim first led Pakistan in the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He continued to impress in the domestic circuit, but the presence of spin all-rounders like Mohammad Hafeez, Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik did not deter him from playing for the national team.
However, Wasim made his T20 International debut against Zimbabwe in May 2015. After which he did not look back. The all-rounder has consistently performed well with both bat and ball. Wasim became the first Pakistani spinner to take a five-wicket haul in 2016 T20Is. He has also topped the ICC rankings as a T20I bowler. He was also a part of the winning team of Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2017.
