Mumbai/Pune: The Cyber Police of Pune has arrested IAS officer Sushil Khodvekar in the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET Exam) scam case. Khodvekar was arrested from Thane and produced before the court, where it was decided to send him to police custody till January 31.
At present, Khodvekar was working as an officer in the Agriculture Department, but before that he was working as the Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education and Sports. Sources said that the Pune Cyber Police has got some important evidence against Khodvekar in the examination scam case, after which he has been arrested. Khodvekar is a 2009 batch IAS officer. His arrest has caused a stir among the senior officers.

Earlier, Pune Police had arrested Tukaram Supe, commissioner of Maharashtra State Council of Education in the TET exam scam case. During the raid in this case, cash worth crores and gold and silver jewelery in huge quantity were recovered from Tupe. Tupe is accused of taking money from students who had failed in the 2018 and 2019 education eligibility tests and got them passed. In this case, along with Supe, the police have also arrested Sukhdev Dere, who was the commissioner of Maharashtra Education Council in 2017.
