New Delhi: The Haryana government on Friday moved the Supreme Court against the order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking an interim stay on its law providing for 75 per cent reservation in private sector jobs to residents of the state. “I am referring to the matter which was listed yesterday before the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, where this law was challenged and a stay was requested,” the law officer said. ” “I had appeared before the High Court, so I can say that after giving me 90 seconds to make my point, the court put a stay on the law. The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday put an interim stay on the Haryana government’s law granting 75 per cent reservation to residents of the state in private sector jobs. The Haryana State Local Candidates Employment Act, 2020 provides 75 per cent reservation in private sector jobs to the job seekers of the state. This law has come into effect from January 15. The order applies to jobs paying a maximum gross monthly salary or wages of Rs 30,000.
