Heatwave And Rainfall Warning: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning on Thursday, saying that people in Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat will have to face severe heat and heat from March 25 to 28. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also issued a rain alert for Northeast and South Peninsular India during the next five days. Heavy rain is also likely over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka today.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of light to widespread rain over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next four days. Heat wave conditions are likely to occur over Saurashtra-Kutch during March 25 to 28 and in isolated areas of Gujarat during March 26-28. The IMD also said that there will be a gradual increase in maximum temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius over Maharashtra during the next 3 days and there will be no significant change thereafter. No significant change in maximum temperature is likely over rest of the country during next 4-5 days.
The Meteorological Department said that during 25-27 March, there is a possibility of heat wave conditions in Saurashtra and Kutch, while on 26 and 27 March 2022 in many other districts of Gujarat. According to the officials of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of increasing heat in the month of March due to lack of rain.
