Mumbai : The Muhurta of Belapur Water Taxi from Mumbai has finally passed. The ambitious water taxi service of Maharashtra Maritime Board and Mumbai Port Trust is being started from Thursday, February 17. This information has been given by Aslam Shaikh, the foster minister of the state port and Mumbai city.
According to Ports Minister Sheikh, water taxi service is being started between Mumbai and Belapur with 7 speedboats with a capacity of 10 to 30 passengers and one catamaran boat with a capacity of 56 passengers. By speed boat one can reach Belapur from Bhau Ka Dhaka in South Mumbai in just 30 minutes and catamaran boat in 45 to 50 minutes.

On the other hand, if we talk about the fare, then the fare of speedboat ranges from Rs 800 to Rs 1200. Whereas for catamaran, the fare will be Rs 290 per passenger. Apart from Belapur to Bhau Ka Dhaka, passenger services will also be operated on Elephanta, JNPT waterways. A passenger jetty has been constructed in Navi Mumbai’s Belapur at a cost of about one crore rupees.
