Mumbai: On Monday, 6,436 new cases of corona virus infection were registered in Maharashtra. There has been a decline of 3,230 in new cases compared to a day earlier. Giving this information, the State Health Department said that 24 more COVID-19 Pandemic patients died during 24 hours. However, 18,423 COVID patients were also cured during this period.
The health department bulletin said that the total number of people infected with the corona virus in the state has increased to 78,10,136, while the death toll has increased to 1,43,098. According to the bulletin, the number of people who have recovered from corona virus infection in Maharashtra has increased to 75,57,034. At present, the number of patients under treatment for COVID in the state is 1,06,059. On Sunday, 9,666 new cases were found in the state and 66 COVID patients died.

According to the department, a total of 3,334 patients infected with the Omicron type of virus have been detected in the state, out of which 2,023 have been discharged after the test reports came negative. The corona virus mortality rate in the state is 1.83 percent, while the recovery rate is 96.76 percent.
At present, 6,73,875 people are in home isolation and 2,383 are in institutional isolation in the state. The number of samples tested so far in Maharashtra increased to 7,56,55,012 with 1,00,124 samples tested for COVID in 24 hours, the bulletin said. Pune recorded 1,744 new cases, followed by Nashik (1643), Nagpur (1039), Mumbai (730), Aurangabad (464), Kolhapur (328), Latur (283) and Akola region with 205 new cases.
