Yes, Delhiites will be able to charge their electric vehicle vehicles for free from 12 noon to 3 pm at more than 40 public charging stations in the capital from June 1.
Officials said the move is aimed at promoting the use of electric vehicles and encouraging EV charging at public stations. The noon EV free charging initiative has been launched by EV charging startup ElectriVa, which has set up over 40 public charging stations in Delhi in partnership with the three municipal corporations.

Delhi government gives subsidy to 59% electric vehicle owners
The Delhi government has subsidized about 59 percent owners of 1,39,945 registered electric vehicles in the state under the Electric Vehicle Policy. This information was given by the Transport Department in a written reply to a question raised by MLA Ajay Mahawar in the Delhi Assembly last month. The department stated that 57,796 owners of eligible electric vehicles have not been given subsidy due to various reasons.
These vehicle owners have not been given subsidy due to non-eligibility of vehicles under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy and due to non-submission of proper documents by the owners. The department stated that in some cases the subsidy was not given even due to non-applying by the owners of electric vehicles. The Delhi government has assured that all eligible EV owners will be provided the subsidy soon.
