Aurangabad : Municipal Commissioner and Smart City CEO Astik Kumar Pandey explained the importance of this project while guiding the GIS Surveyors of Aurangabad Smart City. For the first time in the city, the survey is being conducted using GIS technology. Through this survey, 300 level maps are being prepared by combining the components of city roads, pipelines etc. To prepare this map, the survey is going on through these three means, drone camera, satellite and physical ie door-to-door survey. Drone and satellite survey has been completed in this. For physical survey, 200 interns have been appointed under TULIP portal, Smart City has appointed 200 interns under TULIP portal of the Central Government to conduct physical survey. Under this survey forms have been distributed for a total of 85 thousand properties till date.

These surveyors are distributing door-to-door self-assessment forms in every zone of the city. These surveyors were guided by Municipal Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey at the Smart City Headquarters. Then the surveyors were informed about how they should communicate with the citizens while conducting the survey, what kind of knowledge the surveyors needed. At the same time, what information is necessary about the survey topic, it was also discussed. The information coming out of this survey will be easy for the development of the city i.e. supply of basic facilities like roads, water, drainage, etc.

The Municipal Corporation will get information about the premises in which there is lack of facilities by the information coming out of the survey. With this information, it will be easy for the Municipal Corporation to plan all the measures to be taken in that complex and to plan the development works to be done in future. Along with this, the Municipal Administrator Pandey also threw light on how the information coming out of the survey will benefit the citizens. Commissioner Pandey honored the best performing surveyors as Intern of the Month. These included Huzef Khan, Shakeel Khan, Awez Sheikh, Junaid Sheikh.

Smart City CEO Astik Kumar Pandey said that through satellite and drone camera survey and various sources such as light connections, land records office, the administration has got detailed information and maps of every property of the city. This physical survey is an opportunity for the citizens to prove their ownership. So citizens co-operate with this survey and ensure the ownership of their properties. Each property will get its own unique GIS ID by this survey. On which its detailed information will be available.
