Giant Ship (AFP) trapped in Suez Canal
A huge container ship stuck in the Suez Canal, Egypt, has started to change a little bit since Monday. This huge ship named Ever Given has been stuck in the Suez Canal for about a week. According to maritime traffic tracking sites Wayfinder and MyShipTracking, the ship Ever Given on Monday is a bit shaky. This has raised the hope that soon this ship will be taken out of here and the trade route between Europe and Asia will be started again smoothly.
According to sources in the news agency AFP, the rear part of the ship has started moving away from the west bank of the canal. In such a situation, it is expected to come out of the canal soon. It is worth noting that on Tuesday, a huge ship named Ever Given, with the flag of Panama, was stuck in the Suez Canal. Two special boats (powerful boats used to pull ships) have been installed to remove it. Due to this ship, more than 350 ships are waiting to cross the road.
Every year nine billion dollar business is done by Suez Canal
The global transportation and trade is being severely affected by the execution of Ever Given in the Suez Canal, which is already severely affected by Corona. The distance of the waterway between Asia and Europe via the Suez Canal is greatly reduced. Through this, ships going from Asia to Europe do not have to roam the whole continent of Africa. The passage of ships from the Suez Canal saves them up to two weeks. There is a business of nine billion dollars daily from this canal. In such a situation, many essential things are not reaching Europe due to the stuck ship.
The ship is 400 meters long
The ship’s management company, Bernhard Schult Shipmanagement, said efforts were being made to evacuate the Ever Given from the Suez Canal through powerful small boats. With a length of 400 meters, this ship is one of the largest ships in the world. A top pilot of the Canal Authority had said that the personnel planned to take the ship out of the canal during the high wave. He said that Sunday is important. This next step will decide in which there is also a possibility of partially unloading the goods from the ship.
